We know the importance of a sharp knife in the kitchen. It's what makes cooking fun and makes you feel like a pro. But even with all that practice—and all those knives—you might still be wondering how to keep them as sharp as possible for as long as possible. We've got the answer: our class on knife sharpening!
This class is either taught by co-founder of Northside Cutlery, Kevin, or local Chicago knifemaker Dylan who will show you everything you need to know about double-beveled knives and how to sharpen them properly. You'll get personalized instruction as you move through the process of sharpening your own knives and practice on ours. In addition to learning how to sharpen, students will also get personalized instruction on how to use their newly sharpened knives and tips on keeping them that way at home. We provide an appropriate knife for each student to work with so no need to bring your own knife or supplies!
At the end of the class, you'll get some time to shop our store where you will have the opportunity to purchase your own stones, knives and any other kitchen gadgets you find!
Our classes are limited to three people, but if you're interested in having your party of four or more, please call or email and we can work something out!
