Please join us for an intimate dinner with Daniel Twardowski, one of the most exciting winemakers currently working in the Mosel.
Daniel's wines will be paired with three-courses at Eli's Table – Eli Zabar's Upper East Side classic, a restaurant that combines superb neighborhood cuisine with fine wine.
We're excited to showcase the below wines from Daniel, as well as a few extra bottles from his Burgundy inspirations.
NV Daniel Twardowski, Pinot Noix Ultra Brut
2024 Daniel Twardowski, Dhroner Hofberg Riesling Kabinett
2021 Daniel Twardowski, Pinot Noix Ardoise
2022 Daniel Twardowski, Pinot Noix Ardoise
2022 Daniel Twardowski, Pinot Noix Hofberg Reserve
Read on below for more on Daniel. We believe these are the finest pinot noirs coming out of Germany—and belong in the glasses of Burgundy lovers and anyone with an appreciation for the world's great domaines.
Limited tickets available. We look forward to seeing you there!

Daniel Twardowski was born in Bremen, Germany – the son of a sea captain – but it was a move to the Saar at 15 that set his course. Surrounded by classmates with family vineyards, he traded discotheques for wine atlases and tasting groups with future Mosel stars Julian Haart and AJ Adam. Burgundy became his great love, and it was Pascal Marchand who, over lunch, asked the question that changed everything: "Why don't you make Pinot Noir in the Mosel?"
In 2005, Daniel bought old Riesling vines on the slate of the Hofberg and grafted them over to Pinot Noir cuttings from friends at Ponsot and DRC. The name Pinot Noix nods to the ravens cracking walnuts on the slate (and to the 'nut' many thought he was early on). Today he makes just eight to nine thousand bottles a year, all by hand, with no plans to grow. His philosophy is simple: "The best wines are the ones you finish first."
