Txakoli (pronounced [cha-ko-lee] or Chacolí ): a slightly sparkling, very dry white wine with high acidity and low alcohol content produced in the Spanish provinces of the Basque Country, Cantabria and northern Burgos. It’s made from the equally easy to say grapes of Hondarribi Zuri, Munemahatsa and Hondarribi Beltza.
Pintxos (pronounced peen-chos): little snacks or tapas that are typically eaten while drinking at bars in the Basque region. Pintxo, also meaning “spike”, refers to how these tapas are usually served on bread and spiked with a toothpick.
