Join us on September 29th, as The Forks brings the vibrant flavors of Cuba to the heart of Appalachia. For $100, you’ll experience seven courses of authentic Cuban cuisine, each crafted with care and respect for the ingredients and the stories behind them.
From citrus-simmered shrimp to slow-roasted pork marinated in mojo, each dish transports you to Havana while grounded in Appalachian hospitality. With an optional wine pairing, this is more than just a meal—it’s a celebration of shared values like family, hospitality, and the belief that food is meant to be savored.
1st Course: Enchilado de camarones
Succulent shrimp simmered in a rich tomato and citrus sauce, balanced with a touch of cream, served atop a traditional Cuban congri—savory rice and beans cooked together to perfection.
2nd Course: Masitas de puerco
Tender morsels of slow-roasted pork marinated in mojo, a zesty blend of garlic, citrus, and herbs. Paired with tangy pickled onions, spicy Serrano peppers, and crispy fried plantains.
3rd Course: Ajiaco Cubano
A hearty Cuban stew featuring aji peppers and tender beef, simmered slowly with root vegetables and herbs, creating a comforting and robust flavor that warms the soul.
4th Course: Yuca con mojo
Yuca, boiled until tender and then drizzled with mojo—a fragrant garlic and citrus sauce that brings out its subtle sweetness.
5th Course: Cinnamon coconut sorbet
A refreshing interlude, this sorbet blends the warm spice of cinnamon with the tropical essence of coconut, offering a cool and creamy palate cleanser.
6th Course: Fricasé de pollo with croquetas
Juicy chicken braised in a rich wine cream sauce with tomatoes, garlic, and cumin, served alongside crispy croquetas filled with a smooth béchamel and rice mixture, fried to a golden brown.
