Founded by Ben and Lisa Nelson in 2017, Latigo grew from a love of wine and a dream of creating a place where people could simply come together. When they opened their Black Forest tasting room in 2024, that dream became a gathering place welcoming seasoned wine lovers and those just beginning to discover what Colorado wine can be.
Using 100% Colorado-grown grapes sourced from Western Slope vineyards, Ben creates approachable wines that celebrate our state while letting each varietal shine. And people are taking notice. At the 2025 Colorado Governor’s Cup, Latigo earned Gold for Bella’s Blend, Silver for Chardonnay and Bronze for Riesling.
