- Our Story - Over two decades ago, award-winning Chef Youji Iwakura introduced Boston to a renaissance of authentic Japanese cuisine. His vision—rooted in washoku and shaped by seasonality and restraint—became the foundation of a movement.
In 2018, that philosophy took form as Kamakura, the first modern kaiseki (会席 and 懐石) restaurant in the city. During the pandemic, he launched a curbside ghost kitchen serving his signature Sashimi Chirashi Sushi and jewel-like Poke Boxes (currently paused)...
