An Eight-Vintage Schidione Vertical with Tancredi Biondi Santi

Last October, Tancredi Biondi Santi spent a weekend in the Barrel Hall with us to share wine and conversation, and left us wanting more of it all.
June 27 is that chance. We invite you to join us at the Table in the Trees as Tancredi returns to Antica Terra for a vertical dinner: eight vintages of Schidione spanning 1995 to 2021, poured over the course of an evening in Amity.
Schidione is the flagship of Castello di Montepò, the property Tancredi's father Jacopo established in Maremma, the wild coastal hills of southern Tuscany, after decades building the Biondi-Santi name in Montalcino. The wine never changes its composition; their proprietary Sangiovese Grosso BBS11, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot, in identical proportions every year.
That constancy is what makes a vertical like this legible: you are hearing the same wine speak across time, each bottle a dispatch from its moment. Tancredi describes it as a three-role play, characters taking turns as the lead. Over an evening like this, you get to experience the whole cast.
