"To age, or not to age." Do you ever wonder what makes a red wine’s ability to age?
We invite you to join Monika on Saturday, September 19th, at 11am in the lounge, as she takes a closer look at one of the defining characteristics of our red wine program: ageability.
Members will get to taste and understand the blend program at Catoctin and understand in depth the three distinct expressions of wines cultivated with different drinking windows in mind.
During this tasting, we will explore our red three blends, varying vintages, side by side, and discuss what makes each wine different, why they have different aging potential, and how those differences reveal themselves in the glass over time.
It’s a chance to taste not only where our wines are today, but where they are headed – and to better understand why certain wines are encouraged to be enjoyed in their youth, while others are meant to be further aged.
Tickets are $65 and include a sampling of six wines and light charcuterie. You may purchase a ticket below. Members will have an opportunity to purchase a few unreleased vintages.
