Hello, Catoctin Members:
We will be hosting Members’ Night on Thursday, October 8th & Friday, October 9th from 4-7pm at the vineyard!
During these evenings, the winery will be closed to the public so we can welcome members in a more intimate setting. Light charcuterie will accompany the wines, and members are welcome to drop in anytime during their selected evening.
This after-hours event is complimentary, with each member invited to reserve up to two spots. Space will be limited to 68 guests per evening to maintain an intimate atmosphere.
For October, we will be showcasing and sharing with you all your fall allocation. This will be an opportunity to taste and pick-up your allocation afterhours!
The fall allocation will feature 2024 Nocturne. The second blend of Catoctin Breeze, Nocturne is a deep echo of the vintage, offering a bit more concentration and structure than Fauteux while maintaining its generous, approachable character.
After Concerto is assembled and decided upon, we take the best of the remaining lots to create Nocturne - a wine that exists as a bridge between something playful and something serious, taking on the character of both.
The 2024 Nocturne is composed of 62% Cabernet Franc, 29% Merlot, and 9% Petit Verdot. It was triple sorted and matured for 16 months in French oak, 22% of which was new. The judicious use of new oak complements the elegance of the blend, while a higher percentage of free-run wine contributes additional structural tension.
It is a wine defined by balance and freshness - capturing the generosity that makes Nocturne so distinctive while offering a deeper expression of the vintage.
