We invite you to join us for a vertical tasting exploring the beloved third blend of Catoctin Breeze, Fauteux, formerly Adagio. Fauteux is a whisper of the vintage. Bright, honest, and accessible.
After Concerto and Nocturne are assembled, the remaining lots are blended together to give us Fauteux (Adagio). It’s a wine that is built to be drank right now while we wait for his bigger brothers to enter their drinking windows.
What is a vertical tasting?
A vertical tasting is an opportunity to taste the same wine from different vintages, allowing you to experience how each year develops its own distinct character while still reflecting the same place and winemaking philosophy.
We will taste through four vintages: 2022 – the newly bottle 2025 Fauteux that was fermented and matured entirely in concrete tank.
Monika will host the vertical tasting on Saturday, November 7th, at 11am, in the lounge. She will take a deeper dive into the differences in winemaking from vintage to vintage, as well as the climatic conditions that shaped each growing season.
It’s a wonderful opportunity to explore the evolution of wines grown at Catoctin Breeze and reacquaint yourself with our ethos and overall philosophy.
Tickets are $35 per person and include a sampling of four wines, with light charcuterie accompanying the tasting. Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase all four vintages of Fauteux following the event!
