The Tahoe Douglas Elks #2670 presents The High Sierra Chili Championship
Hosted by Minden Mill Distillery, Saturday Aug 16, 2025, The High Sierra Chili Championship is a premier culinary competition that draws participants and spectators alike from several western states. This event not only showcases the finest chili recipes in three different categories, this year we are adding a salsa competition. It also serves as a qualifying round for the International Chili Society World Chili Championship (the best of the best). There will also be spirit tasting and beer available at the fabulous Minden Mill Distilling as well as food vendors. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Sierra Nevada mountains, this championship offers a unique blend of culinary excellence and scenic beauty of Nevada’s Carson Valley.
The event is open to the public for tasting from 11am until 4pm or when the chili is all gone!
Entry and parking are free.
Unlimited tasting kits available at the event $15.00 CASH ONLY! (no alcohol included)
The Minden Mill Distilling bar will be open for service. Cocktails, sprits, wine, beer available for individual purchase.
Included in your tasting kit is a token for you to vote for People’s Choice Chili. You can be a part of voting for best chili! Bring your appetite and your friends. It’s gonna be a hoot!
Reminder: Patrons +21 and over are allowed inside the Mill. No exceptions.
