What makes a wine and food pairing truly work?
In this class we will take the mystery out of pairing and show you how to make confident, delicious choices—without needing to memorize a complicated list of rules.
We’ll explore classic food and wine pairings and uncover why certain combinations have stood the test of time. From rich and savoury dishes to lighter fare, you’ll learn how wine’s sweetness, acidity, body, tannins, and flavour profile can transform the way a meal tastes.
You’ll also learn a handful of simple pairing rules that you can use anytime you’re choosing wine for dinner. No more standing in the wine aisle wondering what will work!
Not sure what bottle to bring when you’re invited for dinner? We’ll cover how to choose a crowd-pleasing wine, what to consider when you don’t know the menu, and how to pick something that feels thoughtful and appropriate for the occasion.
And because every good sommelier has a few tricks up their sleeve, we’ll finish with some sommelier shortcuts —quick, practical tips that can help you make smarter wine choices with confidence.
By the end of the class, you’ll have the tools to pair wine with food more easily, choose the right bottle for any dinner invitation, and approach the table with a whole new level of confidence.
Eat well. Drink well. Pair with confidence.
