Doyo Ushi no Hi/ Eel Day *UNAJYU *boxes for pick up only July 26, 2026
Join us in commemorating Doyo Ushi no Hi, also known as Unagi Day—a heartfelt occasion that honors a cherished Japanese tradition. Regrettably, this will be our final year hosting this event, as the eel farm in Maine has closed. Until high-quality eel becomes available domestically, we invite you to enjoy this last opportunity to savor the delectable Unajyu boxes from Tatsu Dallas.
Please mark your calendars for Sunday, July 26, 2026, and join us in celebrating this culturally significant day.
Doyo Ushi no Hi, the Day of the Ox, is observed in Japan as a time to enjoy grilled eel, or Unagi, believed to enhance vitality and assist in mitigating summer fatigue. Unagi is not only a flavorful and nutritious delicacy but also a symbol of health and well-being.
To make this day memorable, we will prepare a limited batch of 120 exquisite Unajyu boxes, featuring tender grilled eel atop perfectly steamed rice. These will be available for takeout and pickup exclusively—please note that on-site seating will not be provided.
Pickup will commence at 12 noon and conclude at 3 pm, allowing you the convenience to enjoy your Unajyu at your preferred time. Each box is priced at $75 plus applicable taxes.
We sincerely appreciate your continued support and look forward to sharing this meaningful occasion with you. It is our hope to celebrate together one final time.
