Join us for a 4-part workshop series to explore Kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing ceramics with gold. Certified Kintsugi Specialist Lauren Luscombe of LL Kintsugi will guide you through each step. By the end of the series, you’ll have a one-of-a-kind piece to take home, along with the knowledge and materials to continue practicing on your own.
Materials Included: Urushi lacquer, gold powder, and all necessary tools.
Please Bring: Up to two broken ceramic pieces (original piece no larger than 8"). They must be glazed, cracked or broken in up to three pieces. We do not recommend bringing a family heirloom as a piece to learn on, instead consider bringing something less precious.
Class size is limited to 6 people to ensure personalized instruction and a more focused experience.
Dates: Feb 9,16, 23, Mar 2 * please remember this course is a series of 4 classes.
Important Disclaimer:
Urushi, the main material used in kintsugi, is a natural material that can cause skin irritation or allergic reactions in some individuals in its wet state; similar to poison ivy. It is highly recommended that participants wear gloves, long-sleeves, long pants and closed-toe shoes.
